One In A Million

Hit the road running towards the morning light
Had to leave this room that constricts all hope
Tripping on savage words holding no meaning
Artificial love intoxicates some synthetic dope

Everything that’s been thought of is already done
Nothing new resides underneath this setting sun
Potential enemies are so quick to brandish a gun
What are the fucking odds it’s like one in a million

Careful of the sword that keeps alive the dead
It’s a mythical legend filled to the brim with sin
Insignificant means breed discontent in a mind
Spitting barbs while donning some modest grin

While degenerate mutants seek out harmless fun
Latchkey kids carried burden that weighed a ton
Can’t count wars lost without talking battles won
What are the fucking odds it’s like one in a million

Late night musing. Just messing around with words and riffing. Never too old to learn some different tricks. Appreciate you.

" Strange days have found us
Strange days have tracked us down
They're going to destroy
Our casual joys
We shall go on playing
Or find a new town."
