as little mercy as the night

We shivered in the breaking
rays of day
as if the dawn
washed us clean
of our nighttime sins

and I clung to you,
battered,
while you gathered
my body against you,
my hair under your arm
like a crumpled sheet
stained with
revelation

because in the cold night
we raged

in the starless eventide
we fucked like mercenaries
who needed to kill
each other to survive,

our weaponized skin
was combat gear
while we snarled
and clawed,
and ached,
and screamed,
across a plain wood floor

until we stained the
planks so deeply
that a black light
wasn't needed to see
crime scene evidence.

My throat in your teeth
when you fucked me from the bottom;
as my clawed red nails
turned crimson in your chest

and you shoved my head
in the pillow
my arms twisted
behind my back
while
I sobbed a muffled
please
fucking please

instead of mercy

You acquiesced
and rode me hard
your hand a crop
against my pale ass
strands of my hair entwined
in your fist
as I screamed your name
as a curse on creation
and clenched so hard
my pussy
sounded
as obscene
as our actions

and we lay now
sweat-misted skin
quivering
as warm light hits
our battered bodies

I whimper as I trace
your torn lip,
and you inhale dismay
at the perfect
teeth marks
blackening
the underskin
of my tender
right
breast

and I cling to you
as day shows
our depravity.

and smile
as our sweet warmth
covers us like a blanket

because I love the feeling
of your safe chest under
my tear-sticky cheek,
and the way your hands
cover my back like a shield

and I love the way
you love me like I'm
the most beloved
possession in your world

but my darling
close your eyes
and cling to me

because as beautiful
as we are
in the light,
and we are fucking gorgeous
I love us
in the dark

and I shiver in bold anticipation
as we strip clean
from our skin,
open eyed,
and find greater beauty
in degeneracy

Darling I only know the day
is kind because I know
the night is ruthless

I know the night is fucking ruthless

and I cling to us
in a matrix of
dark-light notions
as your hands circle
my slender wrists
and pin me
to the wall

darling

I ask you to be as
kind as the night
as you nuzzle my cheek
with your nose

and I ask you,
as you take my
mouth with yours,
to show me
as little mercy
as the hour
before dawn
