love letters

I write love letters in the snow
with the hope that you will see them
and know they are from me.

I organize the leaves into heart-shaped patterns
outside your door,
hoping the wind will have mercy.

I hide the best bag of chips
in the back of the row
because I know you look there first.

I play the games you like for hours,
just to give you all my coins
when you rant about not having enough.
