If High school's Still The Same

Highschool runners passed me by on my walk I just came back from,
 
and I wonder if high school's still the same. The same as it always will, just like Josie said in Never Been Kissed.
 
I'm just glad I didn't have much social media at the time I was there. I think by the time I graduated (2011) there still was flip phones. I wouldn't know though because I wasn't obsessed with getting the latest gadgets.
 
I grew up in the 90's, a time when shows and music weren't censored nearly as much. And sexual innuendos were all throughout the kid shows. The shows and games were dark yet so meaningful. Everyone remembers The Powerpuff Girls. Teen Titans. Ren and Stimpy...oh dear Lord. Mario. Zelda. Donkey Kong Country. What we had was more than amazing. It was Heaven. Heaven on this Earth.
 
But maybe there still is Heaven with the kids today. School shootings, oh no. Rumors spread about them on social media, no, just no. But there are still those songs I'd even be willing to listen to today. And games and shows that are still meaningful. It's just different, yet the same.
