The Time Fairy

Her lifeless body
Lay stricken
Upon the bell tower
Her wings
Frayed, and broken
Her words lay on her dying lips
Unspoken

Chasing ghosts
Vanquished dreams
Lost hope
And a fragile heart
Beating a tentative beat
Delicate tears
Caress the saddened soul
No longer whole

Her lifeless body
Still upon the bell tower
Awaiting a burial of sorts
Time moved forward
The hands of the clock
Together, cast her asunder

She was lost to time
Yet became part of it
As her silken wings
Lay wrapped around
The midnight hour
Forever seeing in
Each new day
At its birth
