Finally My Dream

Once, I had a dream
That was not my own
I tried so very hard
To nurture the seeds that were sown
As with all dreams
 I woke up
Realizing that was not my luck
That was not my drive
That was not at all that kept me alive
I took a breath so deep
That I could feel the ground
Through the concrete on the street
Dreams have come to me and slipped away
I refuse to let go
I command it to stay
If they were not for me
Let them believe I was in the dark
My eyes have adjusted
Yet they still see no spark
You can’t do this
You won’t do this
Why can’t I?
Because I am not you sis
This is my dream
My path, my goal
Take that dream you gave me
Let me see how it goes.
For too many years, I gave daydreams away
Too many tears flowed and did not stay
This is the dream that came to me
Not your fear
Your doubt
And let's say it
 Jealousy
That will not stop me from making this a reality
