Losing My Colors

My broken soul
Lost its colors
Each sliding
Down my face

One
By
One

My red bloodied
Fingers shakily
Picking up
My tear-stained
Heart

My orange sun
Happiness
Becoming
A distant memory

My yellow sunflower
Dreams no longer
Reaching for
The sky

My emerald eyes
Becoming clouded
With resigned
Tears

No longer
Anyone’s
Blue jean baby
I became
Unrecognizable
To myself

While my
Violet-bruised
Self-worth
Slowly withered
In the wind…

A river
Doesn’t
Flow backwards

And a soul
Only knows
How to break one
Way

Shattered

Into a
Million
Tiny
Shards
