Angels

(Fia Naturie/Billy Snagg)

I cannot compare thee to anything.
One look stops the very air that I breathe.
As angels kiss lips as soft as dew, sing,
For all that I yearn will make me believe.

And I carry on musing just the same,
Through life's tribulations, dancing a tune.
Loving each other, there can be no shame,
Proceeding in time to the sound of June.

Now when I think back to those pastures ripe -
Carefree and joyous for all we were worth,
Even on days we would carry a gripe -
Still you're my sunshine, my heaven on Earth.

So no matter the month or time of year,
Always be grateful when angels are near.
