I spent a good lot
of my misspent youth
obsessively reading
about artists
so that now
when they’re being cancelled
I can say ‘I already knew
Armie Hammer liked flesh!
if I lived in LA I’d have warned his poor wife
to never spill barbecue sauce on herself!’
and ‘of course the Foo Fighters
were AIDS denialists!
I read it on some random site
circa 2009.’
the lesson is that artists
are just like politicians:
they might do you good,
but are just as much bastards
as anyone else.

The art of acting is carried over even when the camera's stop rolling. Who they are when the eyes are off them is the true them. People do not want to believe it.
