Hocus Pocus
lose the focus
if you want to see a different way
Consciousness is a slow shutter speed
dreams are a time exposure
Freeze a sports play
and you have a detailed truth
But freeze a waterfall
and
you've
lied.

Author's Note
I think blur is an underutilized technique in photography. It can impart a dreamy quality, or a feeling of the passage of time. I stumbled upon a photo I took of a tulip field in WA state. All my sharp focus photos from that shoot were predictable. The only one I really liked were the (on purpose) blur photos.

Sometimes in a blurry picture you can discover a whole world that wouldn't be seen in a crisp, focused photo. Great poem!

Thanks. I'll have to find more of my blur photos and / or take new ones. I'm going to the state fair soon. Rides are great for blur photos.
