A Sunset, A Passing and Remembrance

our youthful steps printed on the sand
when we wandered on this beach
we were young and invincible
youth upon our wings we dared to soar

we wandered watching many sunsets
admiring the hues of the sky
reflecting on the sea in many colours
we walked, sharing our dreams

we made promises never to forget
the times together cups of tea
shared on tables with scrabble blocks
crumbs of biscuits on table cloth

death a thief stole your golden days
life that led us in its winding highways
parted us in crossroads unseen
still the tides keep coming in

today I walked that shore once more
without you sister mine, but I feel you near
I could almost hear your voice and laughter
I remember our dreams and more

farewell and go with God, sister of my heart
I will always remember you
for you live within our memories
together forever in everything we shared
