My true north…
When I have lost my way
and flounder adrift in life’s sea,
I keep a lookout for the light
of home that will guide me
to the harbor of your peace.
For too long I have been gone
from the comfort you bring,
those moments of quiet solace
like an early morning in spring,
filled with the sweet words
that you so generously give.
You have become a beacon
of hope for better days
and the wish the one day
I will be able to say,
“thank you” for being my friend
during the darkest of
moments in this place.
My true north,
you beckon me home
so keep a weather eye
on the horizon and
a candle in the window,
let it shine so I can find
my way out of the endless night.
To my Friend and Pen Pal…
