Image for the poem Sacred Pear

Sacred Pear

They laid me down in red satin
to feel the soft texture on my skin

I wear jewels from head to toe
drawing your eyes to my natural beauty

They painted my eyes in black coal
to bring the carnal fire out

Lips stained with dark cherries
so your tongue will be sweet and remember mine

Golden-scented oil was rubbed into my skin
for my lover is the only one to touch and leave me touched

I lay before you, ready, willing, and enamored
for you are the first and the last to taste this pear on my sacred tree
