Streaming politics while stoned
Makes the truth easy to see
Everyday life gets postponed
By two sides who can’t agree
When did it become so difficult?
Looking at lies so paper thin
Another outlier the same result
Hiding behind a shallow grin
Corporate whores donate money
Just to have a dog in the fight
Raping the land of milk and honey
Since they reserved the right
One percent needs nothing here
Because they own it all anyway
Underhanded tactics made clear
Reality says gotta pay to play

The fact that you use your skills as a creative writer to put forth the message, that will intrigue a reader, is worth you standing on the soap box.

Thanks so much for your commentary, and support. This was something I really needed to hear. I spent most of my life songwriting with musicians, and I always worked for the good of the song. I'm a lyricist at heart and I'm leaning into using it in my poetry. But, In all that time, I always felt like a hired gun. I never wrote for me, and only me. I'm learning.. So thank you for your kind words. Appreciate you, and your writes.
