soulful
with a heavy feeling I sigh into my soul
breathing the hurt that keens
worshipping my darkness
I sacrifice my truths on the shrine of deceit
smothering my gentleness
better to die before you breathe
you would have never survived the world
a tiny gasp and she is gone
back to the source that inspired her
a row of daisies seedlings of despair
in loving memory of loves I didn't allow
tears water the emptiness left behind
sitting by the great pool is my soul
with big soulful eyes she gazes at me
questioning will there ever be one like me?
her ache is quite evident
my honesty causes her to weep
not likely little one
not in this world of smiling teeth
and daggers in the eyes
your purity of soul would communicate
prey to them I'm afraid
so she purifies her ritual
pouring mercury in the reflective waters
waiting for visions of him
her soul's twin with a knowing
so deep she pours some on her head
he's on his way I have memories of him sitting here with me
his soulful eyes welcome her in
