Image for the poem dirge of the damned

dirge of the damned

stifling the urge I turn to you and our pledge
designed of love and honor
we knew the day would come for
brothers in bond and in love
angel lust forbidden
but I knew it grew in our fascination of each other
and mutual respect

even as we dream of our perfect woman
I knew our lust grew
a playful shove wrestling me to the ground
with a deep soulful stare in my eyes
stirring a love in me so deep it couldn't be sated in brotherhood

we kindle our affair first in confession
keeping it quiet knowing it was taboo
the other brothers would judge
so caught up the perfect lass

until one night we burn so deeply our passions were understood
deep in the soul of me we became one in desire and urgency
androgens I was always more your woman
you the decision maker took on the masculine role

little did we know we conceived that night a female child
soon she was communicating to us telepathically from the womb
listening intently to our every word
feeling every inflection of our doubt

soon she began having visions of great cities and the part we were to play
we named her Allura the seedling of hope
our love affair grew and so did our child

I made you a vow concerning her
when we were discovered it was as we thought
we were to be separated and the child and i were sent to mortal realm

she is just now coming of age and learning her magic
for my part she resents I won't allow her to have the freedom
of the other darklings

she is very young and understands not the wierding way
I protect her honor at all costs as do you brother
but she flexes her wings to fly getting away from me more than once

she is learning mortal history
she scoffs at the idea of royalty and wonders what quantifies
a tiara found on the ground on the galactical highway?
