We Are What We Eat

tortured, murdered, shrieking, squeeling
several billion each day die
a billion terrorized whose feelings
are ignored by the unwise

only those who do not murder
or pay others for their crimes
can evolve any further
in such cruel and brutal times

compassion is the one masala
sprinkled on the food we eat
elevating spirit farther
making consciousness complete

becoming one with interstellar
beings which surround the Earth
watching humans getting better
watching humans giving birth

to a more inclusive vision
ending the horrific pain
ending cruelty's dark mission
becoming one with all again..
