Storms of an Evening

standing there watching the darkened sky
feeling the cold breeze as stormy clouds gather
at the balcony I watched as the wind showed its fury
picking up strength it roared through the air

I stood there watching the lightning strike
far in the distance ready to come near
smell of ozone as storming grew in might
the thunder roared as if challenging twilight

I wonder at the fearsome thunderstorm
admired the might of a thunderstorm's embrace
they were such a mesmerising sight
like misplaced neon lights dancing in space

I closed the door and went inside
went to bed in my cosy room
outside the lightnings chased thunders
bowling matches in heavenly sphere.
