Funeral for a Friend

It certainly makes us ponder on the passage of time and the friendships we build. My heart ached for her daughters and her mother.

“Our group lost another friend“

Fuck man, that’s the most wrecking part of the entire thing. That loss is not new. And when you say your group, my kind goes to The Group from the era of beer and insecurity and late night talks about nothing that becomes everything. That core group that’s gonna live forever… until you don’t.

I’m sorry for your loss. This was a stark and apt tribute

Thank you for your words Betty. "Our Group" is my old marching band friends. We were a tight knit group. Over the years as we got older, had families, or moved away, it became a little more difficult to get together, but we always ran into each other, what was amazing was that we could pick up like it was just yesterday. I kept in touch with my friend through FB, though we didn't talk as much, I just felt like she was such a big part of my youth.

So sorry for your loss, Wally. These reminders are coming more frequently, it seems. Time goes fast, and memories are so precious. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute.

I know that as we get older these are more common. Some friendships seems to last forever and some feel like we all had our special bonds, no matter how far away we may be.
