Ruby Murray

Off to the lands
Of a thousand dreams
Another world
Where the sun shines
Blue, and green
That isn't quite
The Utopia
It imagines it is
For within this world
Lie monsters
Demons with smiling faces
And pleasant demeanors
With a dark inner side
Superficial niceties
And a smile
That would eat you alive
As dark as Sambuka
Without the sweetness
There-in lingers
The dark caves
No gold filled dragon hoards
Or witches curses
Or abstract puzzles to solve
Nor truths to find
The caves of lies
This strange new world
Soon
I was flying
And glancing down
Upon this damaged world
Of deceit
Of empty promises
And falsetto voices
Of murder, and mayhem
Of gods, and goddesses
And pretences
Of doubtful promises
With abject horror
I realised
That i was
On a future planet Earth
A strange
Slowly dying world
I left in a hurry
With my best friend
Ruby Murray
Who looked good enough to eat
She was as hot
As a golden glowing sun
I loved her
Forever, and a day
And one fine day
She fell into a black hole
And was never seen again
