the big question
the sidewalks bear their
teeth and growl at
passers-by
post office workers
argue and fight in
open combat with
mailboxes
a pound of flesh
only 5.99 at the
local market
the shelves at the
bookstore mourn
the loss of genius
the boy's in Vegas
are laying down
odds and picking
up bets on the over/
under of when hells
coming to town
the heart of time
weeps as eternity
comes to the end
of a long and dusty
road
as mountains pack
their bags and get
ready to head to
Mexico for a long
overdue summer
vacation
the rooftops look
down and wonder
where has all the
reason and sanity
gone
