Dim
The caw of a crow pierces through
the hovering clouds of time.
Within my melancholy soul,
it's a familiar loud lonely rhyme.
A mental walk through yesterday.
The sun of remembrance
dims her rays.
Past dead gardens,
where unborn gestures roam.
Haunted by abandoned
people that felt like home.
The days of boisterous blossom gone.
Just crumbling tombstones for all we longed.
the hovering clouds of time.
Within my melancholy soul,
it's a familiar loud lonely rhyme.
A mental walk through yesterday.
The sun of remembrance
dims her rays.
Past dead gardens,
where unborn gestures roam.
Haunted by abandoned
people that felt like home.
The days of boisterous blossom gone.
Just crumbling tombstones for all we longed.

Nothing lasts forever. Perhaps only in our minds. I certainly gauged that impression here & got a strange sense of comfort that there did once exist happier days. It doesn't always have to commute as torture, surely? It's the natural cycle of things. But yes, you have the right to feel tortured, bereaved, etc but sometimes past memories bring us joy also. That's all I'm sayin'! 😊

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes many many memories bring joy. I began writing this yesterday
upon hearing my crow friend and the clouds were grim. Not tortured, just sad.
Thx for stopping bye & reminding me there is joy too.

What a dark piece of poetry this morning. I love it. Your words and image create such atmosphere. Brilliant.
If you are feeling dim today, get outside and enjoy nature. That can help.

So hard when the light is dimmed...by absence or simple melancholy. It's greyness almost has weight, doesn't it? Feeling this one this morning

Yes the grey reflects the grey atmosphere in the mind.
It is heavy. But sunshine usually saves me

Behind the crow
There is a sparrow, can you see?
Flapping around, doing miraculous things
just being free.;)
I hope you smiled on that one. We all have our dark days, and we need to go through it just to appreciate the light when it decides to show. Love the piece. Fia xoxo

There's an eerie comfort in the caw of a crow. Wise birds. If only we could translate their message. Wonder what we'd learn

I know this feeling of dim with the irony of light outside.
Wishing for brighter days for you, and leaving a flower to your tomb.. paying respects...

This one is dark, but descriptive. The inevitable horror and nightmare of abandonment seem to show up here. You use articulate and specific language to depict the atmosphere here. Good job, overall.
