For All I Know...

I've said hello
To those I pass
But none can do the same.

And though I know
We're a different class
To each I cannot blame.

Perhaps today
I'll run into
A father and his son.

Before I stray
I'll first imbue
"good morning," just for fun.

You see, although
Each quiet folk
Declined the greet I gave

For all I know
They've always spoke
In whispers, from their grave.

Author's Note
I take a short-cut through a cemetery on the next block when I go to the store.
Sometimes I'll veer off past different plots.
