Ghost In The Room

I was in bed just about to fall asleep when I felt a chill come over the room. I sensed a presence lurking about. I froze and remained still. Somehow, I knew it was the ghost of the previous resident.I threw the blankets over my head because I did not want to see this dead woman whom I had never met. I had heard the young woman hung herself from the light fixture and was found with her body dangling over the bed.

A state of calmness came over me as I remembered that she had lived a troubled life. I wanted to somehow comfort her. I told her she was welcome here and she could stay as long as she wished. I then felt one of her hands slid under the blankets and rest for a moment on my face. She caressed my right cheek  and then left as suddenly as she had come never to return. again.
