Blame it on Age

Choose your words wisely
I’ve heard more times
than can count

Yet, each one we choose
equals one less sound
we’ll ever make

We are wells
running out of ink
or quills
whose tip frays

There’s only so much
it can write
and so much less
we’ll ever speak

Choose your words wisely
For they may be your last
