Image for the poem Witness

Witness

I witness the monstrous beauty
of the gargantuan mountains.
Awe fails to be an adequate sensation.
Time chiseled rock make up
the grandeur of the mountain's spine.
They have seen.
Heard.
Felt.
As if divine
The seasons, reasons, our inner treasons.
They are solid but silent witness's
The altitude will never tell,
and break the allure of the majestic spell.

An alternate last line would be
......of great majesty before I fell. 😊
