Songs We Sing
I wish you were here
So we could talk
Touch
The sound of laughter
When songs are feelings
That we sing
And our mysteries fall away
In meanings
I wish you'd stay awhile
Forever
Even if just tonight
Everything seems so fluid
I'm torn
I'm not like this
But when you're here
I'm healed
Adrift in far, fair fields
Within your presence
I'd like to see a washed out sunrise
Fog shrouded on the shore
Chase the fading night
The halo'd moon
Waves echoing your nearness
Old blanket
And driftwood bonfire
Crackle
Amid the wash and roar
Here
In the dune grass
On the sea shelled shore
I feel adrift within the greys with you
Not in doubt
But not for sure
And gulls are such incessant birds
Like the beating of my heart
Can you feel it
Feelings verge uncharted shores
Let me sound the depths
Love me
If only a little
For even the smallest flame
In love
Desires only to consume
So we could talk
Touch
The sound of laughter
When songs are feelings
That we sing
And our mysteries fall away
In meanings
I wish you'd stay awhile
Forever
Even if just tonight
Everything seems so fluid
I'm torn
I'm not like this
But when you're here
I'm healed
Adrift in far, fair fields
Within your presence
I'd like to see a washed out sunrise
Fog shrouded on the shore
Chase the fading night
The halo'd moon
Waves echoing your nearness
Old blanket
And driftwood bonfire
Crackle
Amid the wash and roar
Here
In the dune grass
On the sea shelled shore
I feel adrift within the greys with you
Not in doubt
But not for sure
And gulls are such incessant birds
Like the beating of my heart
Can you feel it
Feelings verge uncharted shores
Let me sound the depths
Love me
If only a little
For even the smallest flame
In love
Desires only to consume
