Sweet Memory

Why can't we go back to past days?
What happened to the sweet summer rays?
When music transports us in time.
Two glasses clinking with wine.

So calm was the ocean that day.
Suntan lotion in skin marinade.
Sweet scents of coconut lime.
Sweet lips gentle and kind.

Remember that time in the woods?
When they thought you were up to no good.
It’s funny how they were so right.
Smiling about that sweet summer night.

There was another time to explore.
When you stood at my front door.
They said, “Don’t let you in.”
How could I resist that smile? That grin.

That love was so pure and drifted away.
Two islands met but could not stay.
Two lovers laid in each other’s arms.
To be placed in memory where no one can harm

Author's Note
This was a slow burn. With the last stanza the muse left me so if it is cut off too soon. Sorry. Will revise when it comes back.
