Art, Decay, Seeing in Perspective
I ride subways often
Most stations are acceptable
Then there’s the L Train
Union Square
14th Street
Crimes against cleanliness
Old tile walls
They will never be repaired
Disgraceful
Yet …
There’s beauty too
A wall so tired and beyond salvation
An artist like myself captures it
Presents it for your viewing pleasure

I'm a serious abandoned building fan. I love the beauty in decay & the stories locked in the rust, dust & debris. Big like!

I can see why a painter would like the dynamics of decay in this situation. As for me as a commuter, I'd feel uneasy - and have - being on a platform like that. It's a reflection on a city that's falling apart. Same with graffiti.
Personally, if the subway was cleaner, almost as clean as a subway in China, and had paintings by Poetspeak on the walls, that would satisfy me more.

Things are pretty crazy here in NYC.
Between the after effects of the pandemic and the migrants piling in there are lots of issues here. That said it's still the
BIG TOWN..
This wall eyesore was so omnipresent I had to snap and report it here ...
Thx for your vote for my paintings
Appreciate you Dragon

I dig decayed buildings. I must have taken hundreds of pictures of the old gain silos on the waterfront where I live.
Thanks for sharing the photo, it’s a bright spot in my afternoon.

This photo send to be a hit.
It's so obtuse the picture begged to be taken.
Grain Silos gotta be great too for composition and contrast. You might want to post some ...

Yes, I love the mess... I think it's important to appreciate its beauty, even if you ultimately clean it up. Decay is necessary...

I feel like you've invented a new form that we haven't given you credit for.
I'm not a fan of pictures on poetry unless they are the artist's work, or otherwise commissioned. YOU actually do the art thing and it's really fucking good.
This is YOU.
This is your story deconstructed.
It's New York Grit with beauty as the underlay, and that's what I think when I think you. There's that stark, straight talk, but... so much more.
You bring the more.
THE FUCK

I am NEW YORK, rough tough and tumble but I am also one of many. Urban decay as something beautiful. Who woulda thought ?
You see this is a train town and below in the subterranean jungle it's a story a minute. I wouldn't say it's Majestic, just a part of coming and going ...
Appreciate your comments on my art stuff. In a bit of a low right now but hoping to
re-emerge. As a road salesman I must see my customers. That skin on skin makes the sale. No car, no problem. Nobody thought I'd last 6 months but I proved them wrong and still proving them wrong. Never doubt a Scorpio, we claw and sting and write the order. The show must go on ....
Thx B

How did I miss this one?
This is awesome, Mister PoetSpeak. I love abandoned buildings, streets with graffiti, it has so much more soul than modern architecture. It's a beautiful poem, reads like a tribute to days gone by. Love your photo heaps.
BIGGEST LIKE.
P.S this is comment number 3300, so it's your lucky day - just so you know ;-)

Hey D,
I'm glad you're into my urban decay photo.
After all this is your craft. Would have been great to have you model in front of this wall carnage. I see other subway walls like this in Times Square stations. The most traveled stations in the most disrepair. NYC is always a work in progress but also despair ...
Had to be documented...
Appreciate comment 3300. Milestone and I'll take it and you and the lucky day. Can always use those !
Thanks
Stay tuned ...

What a perfect picture... Reminds me of my time spent in the tube...
What is it about the grungy underbelly of the city that always pulls me in...
Living in the underground I suppose, drawn to the seediest of places...
Feeling at home there.

Re: Re. Art, Decay, Seeing in Perspective
There’s nothing like the lure of the underground.
Traveling to the other side of town on the train with the wheels that are just about to fall off. Truth is when you get to that location you’ll find me there too. A chamber awaits you. A place where people like us go to work through the chemical imbalances, the fog of pain and the music that tears at your soul while you nod in agreement…
I’ll see you there
Don’t be late
Don’t bring flowers except black roses …
Phenomenal comment Kx
I thank you

Wow, crazy game.
Love that Hart took that 3. Dude has ice in his veins ..
Truly a brawl for all 6 games.
Pacers will be tough. Obi Toppin looking for revenge.
Should be a good series. Your C’s are rolling as expected…

Looking at this from your perspective is beautiful. Being a native New Yorker I know exactly where you were standing. Nicely written. Fia xoxo

Yes, if you live here or lived here you know the extreme beauty of what others would find reprehensible...
It jumps out at you with grit and grime and everything that makes NYC iconic in nature...
Appreciate your comment and RL

Upon first read I found this incomplete in a sense I can't quite perceive, though I'd be remiss were I not to concede the brilliance in the "heavy lifting", if I can be permitted such a colloquialism, done by the single line "crimes against cleanliness"- I respect the hell out of that. Moreover, I get the sense (beyond your 2200 something odd poem count) that you've pursued the honing of your craft for quite some time and I hope to glean what I can from the rest of the quite literal anthology that is your body of work as published on this platform. Expect more comments from me as I peruse the works you've uploaded; I came from having initially seen your profile as followed by many of the poets whom I in turn follow.

I am a city bloke.
A lot of these views are there for the taking.
I see art in so many vista's. It might be a gift.
Thanks Wally
Appreciate the nod
