The Lady Blue (The Affair)

At last, I was living a dream life. I was having a hot and heavy romance with  with Gary. I found I was unquestionably and hopelessly in love with him. I had grown up admiring him and fantasized about us having a close relationship. It did not occur to me to turn away from him even though he wasn't really mine.  
   
Being with Gary would sometimes remind me of something that Pa used to say to ma.  
   "If you're gonna play you have to pay." Ma liked to flirt with other men but if she ever actually stepped out on pa I never knew it.  
   
I would have to say looking back, my affair with Gary started out very passionate. How I loved having sex with him! I knew it was wrong but my love for him was so strong.  
   
After about a year of being together, Gary abruptly broke it off.  I was heartbroken not to mention shocked because I thought things were going really good between us. Gary claimed he was no longer in love with his wife like he was with me. He was just afraid of Carol catching him cheating. But mainly because of their son, little Gary, Jr. He didn't want to mess up the poor kid's life. Instead, he ended up messing mine up.
