but the vantage of the nations,
clothed with lowly righteousness,
is unmoved by mock oblations
choked by pride and riotousness.

threnody and tears commingle
where hope faints and faith is worn;
yet, there’s neither spot nor wrinkle
where the will to live is born.

liberty spreads ample choices
in the path of every fool,
but the wise alone rejoices
by the pure life-giving pool.

preferent the sacrifices
when the age of reason flow’rs,
for to rise above the crisis
opens new redemption doors.

sing the songs that make the heart dance;
what if this should be the last chance?
