Nice way to capture life and death.  This seems a bit self-reflective.  I like how you used the joyful, gleaming expression in the sky, which I interpret is the aesthetic and beauty to life, in the first line.  The second line is kind of a turning point to the direction, story, and emotion, adding a twist to the overall course and theme.  The last line is a transition to the polar opposite realization of the first line, connected by the second line, summarized in bold and dark language.  The metaphors, emotion, philosophy, direction, interpretation, all neatly concise in this format, really pack a punch.  Anyway, again, good job.  Thanks for sharing!

The poem so perfectly matches the image...darkened skies with sun bursting through...which will dominate when they come together? Beautiful

I try very hard to select an image that is a perfect reflection of
the words.

I was kind of going for in order to see heaven's light
ironically it's when your life is in demise.
