Looking Glass

delicately imbuing the indigo flowers...dream
silently escaping the exhale of stars
who draw upon kindness as if if were food and they were craven
 
with an open and honest heart, I believed
but like a thief, you revealed your betrayal
your body is filth in the mocking rain
 
my life is not a game to me
kind of nature and slow-to-temper
the temperament wind spells time
 
searching the skies for untoward devices
meant to steal a soul
spying on my crave  
 
I look for a sane place to rest
while you come at me sideways as any harlot would
eating off your worn looks  
broken but not beaten I defend my right
 
whores of the leaden path have given me passive-aggressive tips before
they found their way as litter on the highway
I won't come down from my seat
 
imploring the dark to rest
asking the polite light to send karmic waves  
through the eve and daytime too
and mourn for the garden no more
