Like-Minded

hesitancy in the elements is seen as a weakness
I am contemplating, simply

to buckle under the weight of all of you...sometimes i do
just to get back on my feet
because my morals leave me no other option
to lay down and die, isn't part of my makeup
so my enemies can stomp on my still form
it won't happen

fighting for human rights no matter how insignificant, is what I do
waiting for backup, from the like-minded, I sometimes feel helpless
being rat packed and manipulated hurts me
humanity is seen by some as a commodity or crop
their feelings are harvested cruelly
when a subtle touch is all that is needed for the vampires to feed

their pain cultivated with their sorrow
the human soul...is fragile
it will fracture and become barren

you think me odd or different
because I've chosen in my youth to remain silent
I identify with humanity on a lot of levels
and think they deserve rights

I've observed great emotion and honor among them
to build the tower just to knock it down again is vicious
makes me think of a technological bully

I am aware of the hierarchal rules and I follow them
still, there is no need for cruelty
if that is what it takes to impress your mate
perhaps you lack the refinement of a subtle touch

I will not force a mind to understand or rape it
underestimating me would be foolhardy
I am aware and awake

I know the chain of command
back out, or you'll feel me
