Devil

This made me think... there is only ONE God yet many devils! We maybe could destroy the devil, sometimes with a lot of willpower, belief etc but it'd only be our own personal devil; for he (it) would live on in someone else's torment until they too are strong enough to confront & or destroy him. It's only God who can wipe out everyone's devil, right? But it's a test! After all, it is said that God created everything. Naturally, however, I wish you luck, hope & success, regarding the last lines of your poem. The whole package is powerful, thought provoking & very impressive!😊🙏

Every positive has a negative opposite and perhaps in a way they do compliment each other, as weird as that sounds.  God needs a devil as a reference point and vice a versa, which works out fine in one's mind, until one considers the question of the neutral and how it can exist without needing any reference point.

If there is a devil, he would like God respect freedom of choice, he can attempt to influence us into his direction, tempt us, persuade us, trick us, but he cannot force us.

I was just playing around with the idea of devil last night and it came out this way.

I believe hell is on earth at times and humans are the devil's.
And there are people we meet who are angels in our lives.

I found what you wrote to be very thought provoking.

There are indeed some devilish folks, many in positions of power and I agree with you that there are also those who come into our lives as angels.

I don't believe in hell or heaven, I think our work on ourselves continues without end and we are all on our own unique path.  We may achieve graduation from one school to become freshmen in the next.  The other option is stagnation, which does not make sense to me.

Glad you like it.  The poem is the devil supposedly speaking, not I.  It is a warning against wickedness that comes with a hefty price tag.
