Brittle
you broke me inside the darkness that bites
I wither at your hands
succumbing to brutality
your kiss still haunts my dreams
terrorizing the sunlight with shadows, eyes gleaming
my memory lapses a saving grace
then a piercing stare reminds me
I escaped all the violence
a passionate obsession
your jealousy knew no limits
fornicating with Jezzabel
hypocrisy your name
I am so grateful to make it free
kept prisoner to your depravity
I accepted it as normal
to walk on brittle glass
a nightmare your smile
it meant you were about to be cruel
you spoke of karma and soulmates
what did I know, I was only seventeen.
