Rose...Victim of silent rejection..!
It remain quiet
after being
abandoned
by someone
I have seen it
becoming the
beauty of someone's hair
becoming
a witness of love
shivering in the sheets
in quiet nights
and buried in the book
n yaaa I have seen it
fall in love with words
n I have seen the words
cry when that rose
is thrown away from the book...

Re. Rose...Victim of silent rejection..!
Hello Dimpy. The one thing I like about your writing is that you don't just splatter words on the page, you add emotion to each poem, whether erotic, or poems like this. You've given the rose qualities that equal aspects of human character like love, rejection, abandonement, sorrow and loneliness.
I recall when my mother died I had to go through some of her old things from a box. In between the pages of an old book was a faded rose. When I saw the picture you've added it immediately reminded me of that.
It's always a happy moment to see a new poem from you, Dimpy.
I love this my pretty friend. :)

A relic of love preserved in the pages.
Brings to mind a true story that an archivist at Canterbury Cathedral in England in the middle of the 20th century found a rose that had been undisturbed amidst the pages of a document since the 16th century (1500s). As that century was the reign of the Tudor dynasty in England and the red/white rose was their symbol, it could be described as a specimen of a once live Tudor rose.
