SMALL
i am light as air today
likely to be taken by wind
to some dark and holy space
above the blue
tiny,
lost amid the finest grains of sand,
too small to notice
i am dark,
a pinhole, minuscule,
but black against a sunlit sky
i am disappeared,
standing among ghosts,
diaphanous,
my voice a murmur
barely heard,
mistaken for some other sound
this sadness,
larger than myself,
sweet in its way,
inviting rest
likely to be taken by wind
to some dark and holy space
above the blue
tiny,
lost amid the finest grains of sand,
too small to notice
i am dark,
a pinhole, minuscule,
but black against a sunlit sky
i am disappeared,
standing among ghosts,
diaphanous,
my voice a murmur
barely heard,
mistaken for some other sound
this sadness,
larger than myself,
sweet in its way,
inviting rest
