They Sleep Unaware of the Clarion Call
in foreign fields they rested
where past dreams echoes
they sleep unaware of the clarion call
that no more pierce the silent sleepers
they fell responding to their duty
defend the nation from perceived enemies
they understood and accepted their fate
when they heed the call to arms
under the field of crosses
the sons and daughters so loved
were identified only by their name
carved on the crosses
their names testified to their bravery
they were the living walls
against the oncoming enemies
they slumber where they fell
they sleep on now
unaware of the clarion call
they would not rise up again
to hold their cross and arms
they will wake when another trumpet call
they will stand and march again
with the glory of a new bright day
in a kingdom eternal
where past dreams echoes
they sleep unaware of the clarion call
that no more pierce the silent sleepers
they fell responding to their duty
defend the nation from perceived enemies
they understood and accepted their fate
when they heed the call to arms
under the field of crosses
the sons and daughters so loved
were identified only by their name
carved on the crosses
their names testified to their bravery
they were the living walls
against the oncoming enemies
they slumber where they fell
they sleep on now
unaware of the clarion call
they would not rise up again
to hold their cross and arms
they will wake when another trumpet call
they will stand and march again
with the glory of a new bright day
in a kingdom eternal
