Buried in Basalt
My hearts feels buried in basalt gravel
Delicate pressure points all surrounding
Each rocks presence is well known
A chorus of angular, uneven and jagged
Hearts can't help but beat as they are meant to
It's as the ocean beats against the sand
My blood doesn't soften the gravel as water does
Instead of crashing it pools through the gaps
Blood on basalt... It's quite the sight to behold
That thin fluid that turns rusty swirls to black
Each beat lifting and unsettling each stone
Each movement a new song thumps into existence
A song you'll never hear from this rocky grave
Delicate pressure points all surrounding
Each rocks presence is well known
A chorus of angular, uneven and jagged
Hearts can't help but beat as they are meant to
It's as the ocean beats against the sand
My blood doesn't soften the gravel as water does
Instead of crashing it pools through the gaps
Blood on basalt... It's quite the sight to behold
That thin fluid that turns rusty swirls to black
Each beat lifting and unsettling each stone
Each movement a new song thumps into existence
A song you'll never hear from this rocky grave
