Judas
Take the poker out of the flame
Close the grate and
Suffocate the hypocrisy.
No one is innocent
In a theocracy
You’re Judas and I’m Judas.
Sin impregnates you
The betrayal is birthed
Blood stains and birthing pain
Cannot be erased from the earth
You’re Judas and I’m Judas
Point the fingers
Shift the blame
Avoid the mirror
We’re all the same

Burning in flames

Author's Note
I think one thing that gets missed about Judas is that even though he betrayed Jesus, is that to this day Christians act as if they are innocent. Not all, but far too many where it is able to be a stereotype. We ALL as Christians have been Judas and betrayed God. We are not innocent.

Surely there is enough grace and love to forgive Judas as he ties the noose.around his neck. Hugs and peace, XO

That is what I am hoping. I think even in those last moments, he clearly realized what he had done so much for him to despair. Scripture to me isn’t clear on it and I’ve never had an answer satisfied by any pastor on the matter. Either way. Grace abounds, and we have much to learn from it. (Of course I am being critical here, but so was Paul when it was necessary.) Even myself needs reminders.

I've never been comfortable with the concept of sin, due to the definitional reliance on some vague sort of promised afterlife, and all the worldly consequences which that enables. But I do admire the praise for humility baked into this poem.
Savvy folks will immediately spot the stink of pride, whether from a Christian or not, and immediately step away...if possible.
Ethics are universal, and begin with two wrongs not making a right...at any scale.
Now if only Netanyahu understood that.

Definitely, we all have pride issues, and the first person to say, "I don't have an issue with pride," definitely has an issue with pride. Sort of like the whoever smelt it dealt it sort of deal. It is better when we can at least be cognizant and recognize where our pride tends to get the better of ourselves and be on the look out for it whenever possible.
