Shades of Autumn

golden hues when fall comes
the land into nature's masterpiece  
dying leaves in fiery glory
before they say farewell to branches
 
falling down languidly
to the grass below
embraces them in the cold
while crisp air permeates  
 
when colours of the wind
kisses the brilliance of harvested fields
patches of autumn's old khaki and gold  
shimmering wonders under the sun
 
Autumn whispers its time for rest
born in autumn I understand the reason
golden and precious in the face of winter's death
