Contentment in Self

Im alone yet not lonely
I like my peace away from noises
that grates like discordant violins
in an orchestra of zombie musicians

my room, one window looking out
sanctuary from any intrusion
I revel in the quietness
that always kindly embraces my soul

My books and I, together
no need for inane conversation
just flying free with adventures
from the wide expanse
of its open pages

in that world that you can't follow
I'm a princess, I'm a crane
a walrus, a carpenter, a penguin, a clown
You see
Im never bored or lonely alone.
