After sunset is when
I see them best
Steady streams of light
While I’m flying to you
Orbiting across the night
Before the sunrise
Its gravitational pull
Like you and I
Sending me signals
In relayed radio waves
Grazing the airplane
On my way to see you
In the mid-west
After-moon
In the mid-west
Pale blue
Showing me something
Out of the ordinary
Fireworks exploding by
Airplanes as high
As satellites
On my way to see you
Showing me something
Extraordinary
Fireworks reaching
For the moon
In bolts of blue
Elevating towards you
In the mid-light
After-moon
In the mid-light
Cascades of pale blue
Toasting the New Year
Of you and I with

I feel like the rushed pace almost lends to the excitement of the piece. As if our narrator is jittering with anticipation, and ready to feel the lift in her belly as the plane takes her to new adventures, and ready to see the cause of her celebration. Really nice piece. I was rushing. LOL I'm in an exciting place in my life at the moment.
Tried to capture it best I could. The belly lift on an airplane!! I feel it all the time but lately my ears have been the real pain!!!

I keep feeling the fireworks as anticipation & excitement. The longing in this is thick & I can't wait for the plane to touch down so you're together. Perfect title too!

Poems on paper kites
with long strings, adding spools
Tying knots at each end
as they spin like days
As they snag, like nights
Tangling in the hurried thoughts
trying to reach you
These tasks we do
in order to cross mountaintops
.Weeks.
This poem-kite brings you a warm sunset
It floats, gathers earnest, soars
Lifted by my words of love, of want
The sleepy sun passes its last of gold
to each letter, one by one
that make up the words
that burned through my heart
-I rushed them onto the kite
while they were still warm.
Do they mimic my desire?
The moon takes over;
The kite is now a falling star
It's just a note
to tell you goodnight.
There's a kite string
a thousand miles long
When next you get on the plane
tell the pilot to follow the line
Back to me.

Everything in this makes me feel
all warm and gooey. Especially the phrase of
putting down the letters when they are still warm.
I actually picture you putting them on the paper - rushing -
carful not to burn yourself.
Like taking hot cookies off a
cookie sheet!! You in an apron gives me a smile:)
