clors and things
Color and things
years ago, when ships looked elegant and tasteful
before ships became barges with stacked containers
when saying, a boat rides the waves like a swan.
it was not considered an over-the-top expression
It was on an elegant vessel, and her slim, long lines were
feast for discerning an eye.
She was also a ship delivering frozen food
deliver an assignment of yogurt from Rotterdam to Istanbul when the Mediterranean sweltered bathers burnt to a crisp the cabin on our ship
was cooling and gave a cozy ambiance
When evening came, cold beer was served
and the harmonica played a feisty tune as
read in fairy tale in ladies' magazines.
On a fateful day in April, the ship was loading an assignment of frozen turkey bound for an American base in the Pacific Ocean
Down the river to the sea, the pilot wishes
us well, the problem began when going through the Panama Canal our turkies was not as deep frozen as they ought
to be the crew had noticed cabins were not as cool as before, dark clouds assembled
The freezing system broke down completely, not nosed before a smell enveloped the ship that it had to be abandoned into the life-boats to row to the nearest island, where the crew were arrested as illegal refugees
as it happened, the tiny island had just gotten its independence from the USA, Europa, and NATO that, had no business in these waters
money changed hands, pleasantries uttered
and the crew
moved from a jail to a hotel with a swimming pool
For the ship, the swan, men's dream, classical beauty
is timeless
Of course, there are other needs that Hellenic beauty cannot meet, temporary pleasure that fades with practice.
As for the ship, drifting about in Pacifistic water, the American navy refused to board her because of the stink
the White House (well, that name change by those who claim persecution to a name that can't possibly offend anyone; calling it off-color will not do, in a way there is
only one name that appears apt: The Jewish House.
