Prayer

I truly prayed for you today    
My heart on its knees    
Not that you would change    
Not that I would remain    
But that you could be who you needed to be    
That you would find strength and peace    
In your weakness and anxiety    
That you would find love    
Self love    
Acceptance    
Of yourself    
For who you are    
Until then all you chase    
Each man you meet    
Will simply be the wisp of dreams    
Like me    
   
I prayed for you today    
Every positive thought and hope    
Not for me    
But for you    
Life's too short for that road your on    
Even if you can't see    
Trust me    
Its easier once you've stepped away    
I'm no longer blinded by the glitter of dreams

I could truly reflect on what I loved about you
