Image for the poem The Vulgar and The Mad

The Vulgar and The Mad

hidden in the divine
a place for me...I covet it
A stranger by design
revealing my need

Earnest affection
I detect wanton, cursed displeasure
A bride of nothing
home to none
ravaging the vine
shaken fascination distressing the virgin

Inside me I see her desire
I push past her in the immortal corridor
and deign a view for my pleasure

Welts on porcelain
a tea party for obscurity
even the mad hatter would concede defeat

To the fathom, phantom, phantasm
split Vulgarity she has a chasm too great
you won't cross over
