Image for the poem sifting through daylight

sifting through daylight

Little hope in the pain
I focus my heart
Rejected emotions stand clear

The sorrow aches
frivolous thoughts join me there
Eternally grieved beset with need

To sulk in the background
a cosmic misfit disconnected for the moment from the day
touching the aether I am denied

Punished for things unseen
a wandering child of naught
seemingly out of place

Boundaries are set about me
step out of line
be taken away

Disturb not the gilded way
you will reckon with the Gods
should you disobey
