Trolling the Stream

Trolling the stream, watch the yuppies go in circles.
Shallow rollers, biting the cast with the current, turning inward with the tide.
Exposed for catfish, bellies in the waves.
For bottom feeders, down the flow, over rocky terrain, unknown.
They also bite when it rains, or if there's assumed bait.
Skip a rock, watch the ripples, and they look to feed.
Hook, line, and sinker - caught.
Used for bigger fish in deep, still waters.

Author's Note
This is somewhat of a metaphorical satire consisting of exemplification of chatrooms.  Some of the "shallow" attitudes of such text conversation, found on message boards as well, are captured and highlighted in a sort of ironic, poetically just way.  See if you can pick up on such an interpretation in this.
