Dear J,
Wow. Interesting subject. What was striking for me is how fast time passes when thinking of others dead or alive but mainly dead. It always feels like yesterday when something happens and then I do the math and its been decades! Well done. H🌷

Thank you H. I remember the day well getting the news on arrival at work. And I thought what a waste of talent; and why anyone would want to kill him? It was a sad day -- and for some time afterwards I thought 'this is a cruel world, and I'm not sure I like it'. I'm having similar feelings over Gaza currently - such pointless and tragic violence. But it also reminds me 'life is precious, don't waste it'. I try not too.
It's olive harvest time here in Portugal, and now after some years it seems perfectly 'normal' to get your own olive oil -- I mean, doesn't everyone? :)

A somber subject but I do enjoy the irony of this poem.
Cool interesting little gem 👌👏👏

Hey, Josh. I was in Honolulu when Lennon was killed and may have unwittingly played a part in Chapman's return to NYC when he went ahead and killed John. I was interviewed by Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Ben Kramer from Rolling Stone magazine. You might find the poem I wrote about it interesting. Loved yr poem, btw. Peace.

Hi Mrd, thanks for commenting. I remember I was on my way to work when the news of Lennon's death came over the car radio.
Interesting about your background at the time. All the best for 2024, Josh.
